Star Man

The zodiac man, from "Les Tres Riches Heures de Duc du Barry."

In Medieval times, today would’ve been a big day. There’s something astrologists call a Cardinal T cross underway in the skies August 6th through 7th, which means….I have no idea what. But I know it’s big.

Centuries ago, the well-educated were much more fluent in star-speak. Calendars contained “zodiac men,” like this one, found in the famous 15th century manuscript, Les Tres Riches Heures de Duc du Barry, and astro-physicians explained that every constellation was linked to a different part of the anatomy. Predictions about health, life, and conflict were made accordingly.

I don’t feel anything yet, do you?

Another Medieval zodiac man.
